At Caron Chiropractic, we believe that chiropractic care is an important aspect of caring for your spinal problems. We aim to provide an integrative approach to all of your therapy needs. This is the main reason our office is proud to provide ArthroStim treatment. Known as a supplement to traditional chiropractic spinal adjustments, we utilize the ArthroStim when we need to target a specific area for pain relief.
What is ArthroStim?
Simply put, ArthroStim is an instrument that can be used by knowledgeable chiropractors to provide relief to specific parts of the body. This is primarily used as an alternative to the traditional chiropractic spinal methods that require different motions like twisting, turning and “cracking” of the joints. When you don’t need your entire body adjusted constantly, the ArthroStim aids in targeting specific areas and providing pain and tension relief to that one specific area.
Is ArthroStim Effective?
In 1992, a company called IMPAC received the FDA clearance for utilizing the ArthroStim. For over 25 years, ArthroStim has been tweaked and adjusted to be more effective and comfortable to patients during their treatment. If you have an injury specific pain or any type of pain that is localized to one portion of your body, really, the ArthroStim may be a good option for you. Typically, patients receiving ArthroStim can feel immediate pain relief. It can promote relaxation, relieve muscular and nervous tension and improve the patient’s outlook over all if they continue to utilize chiropractic care.
How Does ArthroStim Work?
When we utilize our ArthroStim instrument, we set the amount of energy/force that is desired for your specific area. With up to 12 “taps” or 12 hertz of energy per second, the low force, high energy is a controlled adjustment that feels like an intensive, targeted massage. The speed, thrusting rates and amplitude are all adjustable and set specifically to your needs. After your treatment, the pain relief benefits are generally noticeable, but your body can be sore in those areas for 1-2 days after ArthroStim is completed. We recommend to our patients to listen to their body and try to rest and relax so the benefits of the treatment will be obvious quicker.
